I've only had this one day, and I hate to write a premature review, especially after all the so-so reviews of Haier fridges. I figured that I'd do it for anyone who wanted to pick one up cheap while it's on sale this week. I figure if it lasts a year or two I'll be happy.

It's the perfect size for one person--maybe even 2. I wish the freezer compartment was bigger, but it still holds a decent amount. It's very quiet, it keeps the refrigerated foods very cold and the frozen foods frozen, at a medium setting. The thermostat seems to work perfectly.

I can't get over the fact that it's selling for just over a bigger price this week. Especially since I had previously purchased a much smaller Curtis fridge for almost the same amount. This is a real fridge with a compressor, not a cheap plug-in.

I have to accept some culpability in the purchase. I purchased the first one from Target and the box looked pretty beat up, there was an oil stain on the bottom corner of the box but I chose to ignore that. Not a good idea, it meant that it was improperly stored and broken. I got it home, checked reviews and information because it didn't cool right away. I unplugged it, waited 24 hours and still not working. Turned it around and saw oil stains. No fun. Target was excellent, took it back with the receipt of course and provided an exchange in a brand new, well treated box and confirmed that it was stored upright. Brought it in, plugged it in and now I'm chillin with my mini-fridge. So, my only note of caution is to inspect the box and make sure it was stored properly before purchase.

The unit is great. Very cold drinks. Quiet. Sale price $. What a deal.

Remember

If the refrigerator has been placed in a horizontal or tilted position for any period of time wait 24 hours before plugging the unit in.
Or the oil in the compressor (in the crank where the bearings are) will be dry and damage will occur. It will take months to fail.

Never store tomatoes in the refrigerator! Besides losing their nutritional value, they will also lose their flavor. Store tomatoes above 55 degrees (F) for best texture and taste.

I purchased a Haier compact at Target, it quit working after only 8 months. Haier would not do anything about. Don't waste your money on Haier Products!

At the moment I'm only giving this items 4 stars, as I have only had it for about 4 hours. So far its exceeding my expectations, I loaded it up with water, sodas, and a bottle of wine turned it to the 4th setting as directed. Suprised to find that it has put a nice chill to the items in it, this may be the best deal that I've gotten in a long time

This is a pretty good fridge, lots of shelf space and it gets very cold (freezer actually works). However it's loud! I have the fridge in my bedroom- I live with other people and wanted some solo fridge space- and it has kept me from sleeping and woken me up in the morning. I end up falling asleep in between the cycles, but it always wakes me up in the morning. This would be a great fridge for any room but the bedroom.

Like "mr happy" stated...if it was on its side, place it upright and wait 24 hours BEFORE you turn it on, same goes for air conditioners. This unit is quiet, c-c-cold ! and well worth the $. I am very satisfied...
